Malaysia Airlines retires flight number MH17 after deadly crash
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia Airlines says it is retiring flight number MH17 following the deadly crash of its jetliner with the same number in eastern Ukraine.
The decision to retire the number was out of respect to the 298 crew and passengers who were killed, the airline said in a statement.
MH19 will be the new flight number for its flight on the Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur route and back.
"There are no changes to the frequency of our services and we will continue to operate daily services between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur," it said.
