Energy Ministry cleared for Laos meeting

The Cabinet Tuesday approved the Energy Ministry's statements prepared for regional meeting in Laos as well as the memorandum of understanding with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Energy Minister Narongchai Akrasanee is cleared to sign the MoU, on the sideline of the 32nd Asean Energy Ministers Meeting. The MoU aims mainly to prepare Thailand for emergency situations in fuel and natural gas areas.
Under the four statements, one concerns the integration of the electricity sector in four Asean nations, which would be discussed at the meeting. Asean energy ministers will convene in Laos during September 22-24.
