January 2 2015 special bank holiday: BOT

The Bank of Thailand Thursday announced that January 2 2015 will be a special bank holiday to support the government's policy to have a long five-day New Year holidays to boost tourism.

The central bank hopes that the extra holiday will help boost spending and thus improving the economy in line with the policy of the Cabinet.
The Cabinet on earlier announced January 2 as a special public holiday to stimulate economy, promote tourism, and encourage public participation in the New Year Festivities.
