Appeals court upholds one-year term against red-shirt leader

The Appeals Court Tuesday upheld one-year jail term against former Pheu Thai district councillor and red-shirt leader Somchai Paiboon for having incited red-shirt people to defy the state of emergency to protest in April 2010.

The court ruled that Somchai was strongly implicated for inciting the protesters to violate the law. Somchai vowed to appeal against the ruling with the Supreme Court.
