NLA to nominate no outsiders as CDC candidates

National Legislative Assembly (NLA) will nominate five of its members as charter drafters, vice president of the NLA Surachai Liengboonlertchai, said Monday.

“No outsiders from NLA’s quota will be selected,” he stressed.
Surachai said the NLA will meet Tuesday to finalise the list of NLA members who want to apply to be a committee of the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC).
According to the Provisional charter, the NLA will be able to nominate five candidates from its quota as CDC members.
He also said that CDC members should have political and governing experiences relevant to the task. In particular, they should have a background relating to public law and not have been a member of political parties.
