Berlin (dpa) - The Lonely Planet travel guide has released its tally of most coveted destinations, saying in "Best of Travel 2015" that Washington DC is the globe's number one destination.

The editors have stayed conventional with their top choice following past selections of Paris in 2014, San Francisco in 2013 and London for 2012.
The rest of the top 10 - as usual - are much more interesting.
Here are the next nine: El Chalten in Argentina in second place, followed by Expo 2015 host Milan; Zermatt, Switzerland; Valletta, Malta; Plovdiv, Bulgaria; Salisbury, England; Vienna; Chennai, India;and Toronto.
The top country recommendations were Singapore, ahead of Namibia, Lithuania, Nicaragua, Ireland, Congo, Serbia, the Philippines, the Caribbean state of St. Lucia and Morocco.
