Thailand to ratify low-carbon solution pact

The Cabinet yesterday approved the plan for Thailand to ratify the "Draft Colombo Declaration - For the Promotion of Next Generation Low-Carbon Transport Solution in Asia", government spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp said.

The ratification would be done during the Intergovernmental Eighth Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia, to be held in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo from November 19-21, he said.
The draft’s key content declares the shared intention of countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. It also includes international organisations, bilateral- or multi-party organisations, non-governmental agencies and sustainable transport experts.
