Yingluck's lawyer submits new documents

The lawyer of Yingluck Shinawatra on Friday submitted additional documents to the National Legislative Assembly (NLA)'s chief, saying the documents would show the former premier's efforts in fully preventing corruption during the rice-pledging scheme.

Norawit Lalaeng delivered the documents in person to the NLA president for the assembly’s scrutiny. The documents include the consensus of the former cabinet, a report from the National Rice Policy Committee, and the directions given by Yingluck while she participated in the scheme.
The defense attorney believed that upon studying the documents, the NLA would see that Ms. Yingluck had enacted various measures in efforts to prevent corruption in the rice-pledging program.
He added that the documents were already forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NCPO), but they never have been reviewed.
