Over 4,000 forums planned for reform

The Reconciliation Centre for Reform will hold 4,248 forums to gauge the opinions of students and adults as to what they want to see included in national reforms, National Reform Commission director Lt-General Pisit Sittisarn said yesterday.

The forums will be introduced this month as part of Stage 2 of the road map laid down by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).
The forums will be held under the theme “Thais Have the Same Heart” and will cover the 11 reform areas as introduced by the NCPO. Each Army Region commander will be in charge of overseeing the forums.
Pisit also acknowledged that some reform topics were sensitive and that commanders should be informed and consulted, but he did not elaborate.
Findings will be submitted to the NCPO between June and July next year, he said.
