Thais want a better quality of life and national unity, poll finds

National unity and a better quality of life are what Thais hope for most in 2015, according to Suan Dusit Rajabhat University.

The five top wishes for the new year were peace and harmony, a robust economy, good occupation or education, happy families and a lower cost of living, the university’s survey of 1,521 people nationwide from December 20-27 found.
Economic difficulties, personal misfortunes, political turmoil, rogue politicians and civil servants and all sorts of crimes are the disruptive demons that the respondents most want to see out along with 2014.
Top prayers from respondents for their loved ones were for high spirits, good health, wealth, success and dedication to the nation.
