Thousands await Pope Francis in Philippines

Manila (dpa) - Thousands of Filipinos line up along roads in the Philippine capital hours before Pope Francis was scheduled to arrive.
Family members, friends, co-workers and members of various religious organisations gathered along the expected route of the Argentinian cleric's motorcade.
Some were waving yellow and white small flags, while others carried signs welcoming the pope. One sign read in two languages, "Miserandoatque eligendo. Lowly but chosen."
