Teacher injured in Narathiwat bomb attack

A teacher was injured in a roadside bomb attack in Narathiwat's Bacho district Monday morning.

Police suspected that this attack was part of on-going unrest in the deep South.
The 20kg homemade bomb, reportedly planted in a roadside drainage pipe to harm a six-strong soldier team providing teacher protection, was detonated at 8.30am when the team’s pickup truck passed the spot. The bomb shrapnel slightly cut the left leg of Ban Beu Cho School teacher Somjit Wongketjai, 59, who was riding her motorcycle in the team’s caravan.
