Police bounty on heads of four suspects in South

The Royal Thai Police Office has issued bounties totalling Bt13 million on four men believed to have triggered violence in the deep South, the National News Bureau of Thailand reported yesterday.

The suspects included two insurgent leaders, Sapa-ing Bazor and Mazae Useng, and two other suspects – Adul Munee and Kareema Yalapae — all of whom were charged with terrorism and treason. People with information on the men’s whereabouts should contact 1340, 073-340447 and 191 or their nearest military unit.
In Narathiwat’s Rusoh district, a combined security team on Sunday night arrested three male suspects aged 29-33. They searched a hut in the woods in tambon Reuso Ok and found an AK-47 rifle with its registration number filed off, six AK-47 bullets and 10 ya ba pills. The authorities were probing whether the rifle was used in the January 28 killing of three bread workers in the same area.
Meanwhile, security officers in Yala province are looking for a white Honda City sedan, reportedly used by insurgents in a future attack, Yala police chief Pol Maj-General Thanongsak Wangsupa said yesterday. The police officer said suspected insurgent Saudi Satapor, who was killed on January 30, was wanted in connection with seven criminal cases and one national security case. A pistol found on him was initially suspected to be the weapon used in the fatal shooting of two nursing students in Yaha district last year.
