Bail for red shirt on social media charges

Kris Buddeechin, a red-shirt supporter arrested for allegedly spreading a fake Palace announcement on social media, was finally granted bail by the military court yesterday, after being refused a week ago.

Winyat Chartmontri, Kris’ pro bono lawyer from the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights Group, said Kris was granted bail by the military court of Bangkok after posting Bt400,000 as collateral.
The lawyer said Kris’s prosecutor did not object to him being released on bail and the decision to release him was made by the court without any conditions – except that he must report to the court from time to time, the first being scheduled for Friday.
