Report on signatures almost ready

Police are close to concluding the examination of 300 signatures on cheques related to the embezzlement of Bt1.5 billion from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, a senior police officer said yesterday.

Most of the names belonged to former and current KMITL executives and were signed between 2012 and 2014. The results will be submitted to case investigators today, Forensic Science Police commander Thawatchai Mekprasertsuk said yesterday.
Though police have enough evidence to take legal action against former KMITL rector Thawil Phuengma, former deputy rector Sappasit Limnorarat and lecturer Sarut Ratchaburi, Crime Suppression Division deputy chief Pol Colonel Kornchai Khlaikhlueng said investigators would continue tracing financial transactions of more accomplices. He said one elusive accomplice might be a big fish who is helping fugitive Kittisak Mutthujad.
