DFA files another complaint

The Department of Fine Arts (DFA) will today file another petition with Bangkok's Buppharam Police Station in relation to the illegal demolition of Wat Kalayanimit's century-old pavilions.

The department wants police to capture the person who ordered the demolition and workers who carried it out despite signs warning that the buildings were registered, said Tharapong Srisuchat, director of the DFA’s Archaeology Office.
On Tuesday, department chief Borvornvate Rungrujee filed a police complaint against the temple’s abbot after two migrant workers were arrested on March 13 for allegedly tearing down parts of the Thon Buri temple’s four pavilions without approval
