Supreme Court reverses acquittal ruling of Appeals Court against Karun

The Supreme Court Thursday gave one-year suspended jail term and Bt40,000 fine to former Pheu Thai MP Karun Hosakul after found him guilty of kicking and defaming former Democrat MP Somkiart Pongpaiboon.
The Supreme Court disagreed with the acquittal ruling in favour of Karun by the Appeals Court. Like the Criminal Court, the Supreme Court initially sentenced Karun to one-year imprisonment and suspended the jail term on ground that he had no record of being jailed.
