Charter flights to Japan resumes on Apr 11

Thai airlines can resume their charter flights to Japan from April 11, following the memorandum of understanding signed with the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) on April 2.

Transport Minister Prajin Juntong said that under the MoU, Japan's restrictions will be eased during April 11-May 31. Thailand's Civil Aviation Department is required to impose strict safety requirements on the charter flights and all flights are subjected to safety inspection in Japan.
Japan earlier banned all charter flights from Thailand, after the International Civil Aviation Organisations flagged the significant safety concerns on Thailand's civil aviation standards.
