Passengers advised to get to airport earlier

As the number of passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport during the Songkran festival is expected to hit 160,500 a day, its operators advised all to get to the airport at least three hours ahead of their departure.

During April 9-19, a total of 1.77 million passengers are expected at Suvarnabhumi - the main gateway of Thailand.
Suvarnabhumi airport director Prapon Pattamakijsakul said that during the period, the airport would cater services to 9,948 flights or 904 flights on daily average. Of total, 7,812 are international flights, an increase of 11.52 per cent from the same period last year, while the number of domestic flights will increase by 6.72 per cent to 2,139.
The airport will provide 24-hour translation services for passengers speaking Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and French.
"Due to the large number of passengers, all are advised to use automatic check-in kiosks and arrive at the airport at least 3 hours, to make sure that they won't miss their flights," said Prapon.
