Normal generating activities on April 10: Egat

Thailand's electricity generating activities on April 10 were unaffected by the shutdown of Yadana and Zawtika gas fields, according to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

The two gas fields in Myanmar are shut down during April 10-27 for maintenance.
On April 10, Thailand's power peak was 24,029.2 megawatts, registered at 1.53pm. It is well below Thailand's record peak at 27,056.8MW registered on April 7, 2015.
Egat noted that all power plants in the West of the country are operating as usual despite the gas field shutdown.
It added that power consumption normally eases during the Songkran festival, but would peak around late April and early May.  It urged all to cut down electricity use during 1pm-3pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm.
