Body of Thai-American due back from Nepal last night

THE remains of a Thai-American assistant physician killed during the Nepal earthquake were scheduled to arrive in Thailand yesterday, the Thai embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement.

A group of six Thai medical students who briefly went missing were due to return to Thailand on the same flight, TG320, at 6.30pm, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Sek Wannamethee.
The return of the students brings to 165 the number of Thai nationals who have returned safely from Nepal since quakes rocked the Himalayan country on April 25, killing more than 6,000 people.
No more Thais have requested to be returned to Thailand. Meanwhile, eight embassy staff members and 81 medical and military personnel dispatched from Thailand remain in Nepal, he said.
Each Thai Airways flight can carry a load of five tonnes, while C-130 flights will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Donations of relief supplies are welcome at various state agencies, including a new centre set up at the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under the Interior Ministry.

The Seni Pramoj, founded by the Democrat Party, yesterday donated Bt1.15 million through the Thai Heart Sent to Nepal fund. The Krung Thai Bank account for the fund is 067-0-10330-6.
