At least 67 foreigners killed in Nepal quake

Kathmandu (dpa) - The number of foreigners who died in Nepal's earthquake was revised upward to 67 on Wednesday, authorities said.

At least 112 foreigners were still unaccounted for in different parts of the country.
Many of the foreigners who perished were killed in the picturesque Langtang Valley, north of Kathmandu.
"Rescue teams had to return yesterday because of bad weather, but we have sent a fresh dispatch this morning," said Ramesh Adhikari, chief executive of Nepal Tourism Board.
He said hopes of live rescue were fading in the valley, which was hard-hit by the quake.
District officer Gajendra Kumar Thakur said by phone that about one-third of the houses had been completely destroyed.
Nearly all the families in the village ran lodges and eateries catering to tourists.
Langtang is the third most-popular destination for trekkers in Nepal after Khumbu and Annapurna circuit.
The district that borders Tibet and shares much of its culture is also known for its stunning views of the Langtang Himalayan range.
