A villager and his wife were shot dead and burned in their car by suspected insurgents in Yala's Bannang Sata district yesterday afternoon, police said.
After receiving the shooting report 5.10pm yesterday, police rushed to the scene on a road in Ban Tanyong in Tambon Bacho to find the victims’ pick-up truck had been set on fire.
After the fire was put out, police found two bodies inside and initial evidence showed that the couple was in the area to deliver some goods when a group of armed culprits fired at them. The attackers also doused the truck with petrol and set it on fire before fleeing.
