DSI seeks to indict Supachai over Klongchan embezzlement case

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is seeking prosecutors' approval to indict former Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative chairman Supachai Srisupa-aksorn for allegedly embezzling Bt27 million in May, 2013.

DSI investigator Pol Lt-Colonel Banthoon Chimgra submitted two folders containing evidence and two CDs related to the allegations against Supachai, 57, to the chief prosecutor of the Special Case Office.
Prosecutors need to decide whether or not to indict Supachai before he is released from his 48-day detention on May 19.
More than 20 witnesses and bank account withdrawal receipts, along with the suspect’s own “confession”, point to the fact that he withdrew these amounts to provide cooperation with liquidity.
Banthoon said he would provide prosecutors with other related cases on public fraud with total damages going into billions of baht.
