Police nab two suspected drug dealers, seize large haul

Police have arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized a large haul of narcotics worth around Bt680 million in street value.

The confiscated items include 21.5 kilograms of “ice” flakes and 2 million amphetamine tablets, along with one vehicle and one motorcycle owned by Phoowadol Jindawong and Weerachart Sangwanwong. The raid was conducted at a rented home Bangkok’s Saphan Soong district.
Police quoted the suspects as saying they were paid Bt200,000 to deliver the narcotics from the North to this house, where the shipment was to be picked up by dealers to sell to customers in the capital’s Khlong Toei and Rom Klao areas.
This is allegedly the third time that the two Chiang Mai residents have made a delivery, and this time it was the largest haul, police said.
The suspects also told police that the drugs were concealed in metal tins used for fermenting bamboo shoots. Some 50 such tins were found in the house.
