Student turns herself in over UFUN transactions

A university student surrendered to police yesterday, though she denied any wrongdoing in relation to the alleged UFUN pyramid scheme.

The 24-year-old was slapped with an arrest warrant, because records showed that transactions worth more than Bt20 million were made via her UFUN account. “I had invited 17 persons to invest in UFUN because I genuinely believed at the time that it was an investment, not a scam. All those invited are my relatives," she said. Her relatives showed up with her at the Consumer Protection Police Division to back her claim of innocence.

Meanwhile, police said investigation into UFUN should be concluded soon. “We plan to forward the case to public prosecutors on Monday,” assistant national police chief Lt-General Suwira Songmetta said.
