Early yesterday morning, two bomb attacks in Pattani’s Khok Pho and Ma Yor districts led to six injuries. Three soldiers were slightly wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in Tambon Bang Kora of Khok Pho district. Three defence volunteers, as part of a nine-strong patrolling team to provide teacher protection in Tambon Trang of Ma Yor district, were slightly injured when a roadside bomb went off at 8.40am.
Resident Sukri Hayisalae, 40, and wife Raina Da-oh, 35, were shot and injured by two men on a motorcycle in Narathiwat’s Muang district while the couple rode their motorcycle towards Tak Bai district at 11.55am. Sukri sustained two gunshot wounds in the left leg while Raina had four gunshot wounds in both legs. Police collected six spent cartridges from the scene.
