Road alongside Raphipat Canal deemed dangerous for motorists

Motorists have been advised to avoid the road alongside the Raphipat Canal in Pathum Thani province, as its surface is cracking due to drought and also because the canal's water level is running very low.

Officials in charge of rural roads inspected the thoroughfare yesterday and tried to fix the surface where possible. However, they said, cracks continued appearing in many spots and that there was also a risk of sinkholes developing.
“For safety reason, motorists should avoid the road even though it appears passable in some parts,” an official said.
