NHSO agrees to 4 'pricey' medicines

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) board recently approved the universal health scheme's coverage of four extra medicines, which were necessary but rather expensive, NHSO deputy chief Netnapis Suchonwanich said Monday.

They are: Trastuzumab, prescribed for treatment of early-stage breast cancer; Nilotinib, prescribed for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia; Dasatinib, prescribed for treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia that resists Imatinib and Nilotinib; and Peg-Interferon prescribed for the treatment of hepatitis.
