However he declined to confirm whether the suspect was the bomber of the attack at Erawan Shrine on August 17.
He however said the suspect's appearance is quite similar to the suspect in the police sketch.
"It is too early to say anything as the suspect was arrested today and just brought to Bangkok for questioning at about 4pm," the spokesman said in a press conference on Tuesday.
The army is now questioning the suspect, Prawut said, adding witnesses would be asked to identify and confirm the suspect.
He is now charged with entering the Kingdom without permission, the spokesman said.
