PM orders information preparation to improve country's image

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha ordered for making of information package to create good understanding toward Thailand's situations, government spokesperson Sansern Kaewkamnerd said on Tuesday.

“Well-written information has to be made in details to explain why the government and the National Council for Peace and Order [NCPO] had to come in,” Sansern said after Cabinet meeting.
The premier’s order was initiated during his attendance in the recently-ended 70th United Nations general Assembly (UNGA), Sansern said. Prayut saw that international communities still had blur understanding toward the country, especially to situations happening prior to the NCPO’s takeover last year.
The unclear understandings from outsiders also appeared in long-struggling issues, for example, how Thailand’s aviation standard was downgraded by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and how the country’s fishery industries were warned by the European Union (EU) for illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
