Paibul expresses support to "Abat"

Paibul Nititawan, chairman of now-defunct National Reform Council's Buddhism reform committee, Wednesday expressed support for the screening of the "Abat" the movie which has been banned by the Culture Ministry's film censorship board.

The board decided to ban the movie on ground that it defamed Buddhism and Buddhist monks.
Paibul said the movie did not attack Buddhism but would remind monks to behave themselves.
In a related development, he called on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to enact laws to monitor assets of Buddhist temples.
Paibul said Prayut should order the speeding up of enactment of two bills on Buddhism and temples’ assets management.
