Bt254 million for supply of machines for farmers

A total budget of Bt254 million has been allocated by the Interior Ministry for agricultural machinery supply to help farmers reduce their capital.

After a budget consideration, the Budget Bureau informed the ministry that the budget had been dispensed to cooperatives and farmers who registered legally in 21 provinces for machinery supply such as harvester, tractor, and rice grader machine for paddy fields.
Grisada Boonrach, the Interior permanent secretary, mentioned a cabinet resolution from August 18 that each sub-district has been given Bt5 million, which includes funding framework for measures to promote well-being at sub-district-level.
The ministry also ordered provincial governors to finish supplying the machinery on schedule. Provinces must clearly authorise cooperatives on administration, storage, and maintenance in order to ensure that the supply of machinery is thorough, evident, and worth purchasing.
“The ministry has urgently prepared the management procedure on performance, finance, stock and others involved to help provinces carry out the guidelines, which will help people quickly, as well as keep them accountable with the government policy.” Grisada said.
