Sept car sales remain dull

Thailand witnessed a 10.5 per cent decrease in the number of vehicles sold in September, according to the data compiled by Toyota Motor Thailand.
In the month, a total of 61,869 vehicles were sold. Of total, 22,581 units were passenger cars, showing a 25.5 per cent decrease from the same period last year. Meanwhile, 39,288 commercial vehicles were sold, showing an increase of 1.2 per cent on year.
While new commercial vehicle models boosted demand, suppressing the industry as a whole was the deterioration in the economic condition as well as high household debt level, Toyota said.
