After the two sides agreed on lists of evidences and witnesses of each other, the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Office scheduled January 15 for the prosecutors to present testimony of their first witness.
The prosecutors charged Yingluck in the court that she had violated both the Criminal Code and anti-corruption act for failing to stop damage worth over Bt500 billion caused by her government's rice-pledging scheme.
Yingluck was welcomed by overwhelming number of supporters who gave her roses and orchids to show their moral support.
She said she was confident in her evidences and hoped the court would have mercy for her.
The court agreed to have the prosecutors present accounts from 14 witnesses in five hearings and the defence to present testimonies from 43 witnesses in 16 hearings. The first hearing is scheduled at 9 am on January 15.
