Four red-shirt people jailed for torching Khon Kaen provincial hall

The Khon Kaen court Wednesday sentenced four red-shirt people to imprisonment after it found them guilty of setting fire to the Khon Kaen provincial hall on May 19 2010.

The court ruled that Adisai Wibulsek and Jirattrakul Sumaha had encroached on a government office and violated the emergency decreed. The court sentenced the two to 13-year imprisonment each.
The court also found Suthat Singbuakhao and Udom Khammul guilty of encroaching on a government office. Suthat was sentenced to be in jail for three years and four months and Udom three years and six months.
Boonyong Kaewfainok, a lawyer of the defendants, said he has yet to consult with their relatives on how to obtain assets to seek their release on bail pending appealing against the ruling.
