Govt's tambon payment scheme well underway

Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda yesterday reported that the government's scheme to hand out Bt5 million to every tambon across the country had already seen 50 per cent of the tambon-submitted projects approved.
The money should reach the first batch of eligible tambons by late next month or by January 2016, he said.
Anupong said the budget withdrawal procedure for this scheme would be normal, in accordance with the PM’s Office procurement regulations.
This scheme was part of a range of government economic stimulus packages worth Bt260 billion.
