Professor Anderson passes away

Benedict Anderson, a Cornell University professor, whose influential study on nationalism on Thailand, Indonesia and other emerging nations set a new academic landmark, had passed away in Java. He was 79 years old.
His book Imagined Communities, first published in 1983, became a phenomenal academic standard text book on the understanding of modern nationalism. Among his Thai students were Dr Charnvit Kasetsiri.
