SET ends at 2-year low

The Stock Exchange of Thailand ended Monday at a two-year low, failing to catch up with other regional bourses which were driven by gains in Chinese shares.

At the close, the SET Index lost 20.48 points or 1.59 per cent to 1,264.44 points. Turnover was Bt61 billion. The index was last seen below the level in January 2014.
Foreign investors and local institutional investors were net-sellers of Thai shares today: with the net-positions worth Bt4.65 billion and Bt5 billion, respectively. Month to date, foreign investors had sold Thai shares for net Bt21.8 billion. Foreign net-sells have reached Bt143.6 billion so far this year.
Chinese shares rose today reportedly on hopes for further economic reforms by China's leaders. That led Asian markets higher on Monday, defying a dive on Wall Street.
