The ailing global economy will continue to impact on Thais, with 2016 shaping as a more difficult year than last year, said Pichai Nariptapan, a former energy minister.
Pichai said although the United States’ economy was recovering, Thailand would not benefit much because the US was set to cut the Kingdom’s generalised system of preferences (GSP) and encourage its citizens not to buy Thai seafood due to allegations of slave labour being used in Thailand’s seafood industry.
