Woman shot dead early morning in Yala
A nursery maid was shot dead early yesterday in Yala’s Bannang Sata district while she was shopping for breakfast.
Following the homicide report at 7am, police rushed to Ban Tanoh Puteh Moo 1 in Tambon Tanoh Puteh to inspect the scene, while the victim identified as Waraporn Hamidong, 46, was sent to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police investigation found that Waraporn was only 30 metres away from her home when two men on a motorcycle approached and shot her several times in the head and back. Police gave more weight to the ongoing unrest as the murder motive, although they didn’t totally rule out a personal conflict.
