Red shirts to vote against charter draft: Nuttawut

Red-shirt leader Nuttawut Saikuar vowed Friday to campaign for the red-shirt people to vote against the charter draft on ground that it has undemocratic provisions.

Nuttawut, secretary general of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship, said the draft of Meechai Ruchuphan, chairman of the Constitution Drafting Commission, still has several undemocratic provisions that were in the draft of the previous CDC.
“Since the constitution, which is the country’s master law for the country’s administration, violates the democratic principles, the hope to see the country’s problems solved has gone,”” Nuttawut said.
“We cannot accept this draft in the national referendum and we hope the government will allow free campaigns either for or against the draft before the referendum.”
