So far, no action has been launched against the user, Major Myin Lwin Than, head of South Okkalapa township police, told the Daily Eleven.
“No order from above has been received about this case. And no suit has been filed against him,” Myin Lwin Than said.
The user named “Ye Myint Lwin” posted: “Let’s think about the suspension of Section 59(f) of the Constitution. Please give me a AWM or a AS50 and a month's training and I shall kill her.”
Ye Myint Lwin has deactivated his account.
MPs are currently in talks about suspending Section 59(f) of the Constitution. The infamous clause bars Suu Kyi from the presidency.
He also posted: “Aung Phone Oo and Aung Myat Ko, let’s form a group which wants to assassinate Daw Suu.”
Facebook users called for action to be taken against whoever was responsible for the posts.
Win Htein, a NLD spokesperson, said: “We are taking legal advice. There must be a complainant. Police took action against a woman accused of posting a defamatory photo of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.”
Lawyer Robert San Aung said: “Aung San Suu Kyi is performing the country’s duties. Someone trying to stop her from performing her duties amounts to an attempted rebellion. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will not turn a blind eye to it. No insult on President Thein Sein would be accepted. We can't tolerate words like 'assassination'. I will give legal assistance to take actions against him.”
