Yingluck opens house to media

Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra Friday welcomed to her house the foreign media and a select group of Thai reporters for an exclusive interview.

She also showed off her organic vegetable garden and then mixed up a salad dressing.
This was the second time that she apparently tried to operate her publicity drive after keeping a low profile for quite some time.
However, Friday’s move may draw anger from the junta who staged a coup against her administration in May 2014 like the last time she held another activity to welcome the Thai media on January 8.
At that time, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, also the junta chief, cynically and angrily asked a reporter of the Government House beat who attended Yingluck’s interview. “Is it good? I know what you did,” said Prayut, although he did not mention Yingluck’s name or that of the reporter.
Yingluck is facing a charge of negligence in the controversial rice-pledging scheme during her tenure as the premier that cost the country Bt250 billion in damages.
