Thai envoys given new assignment

All Thai embassies and consulates have been ordered to assure the international community of progress on the junta's roadmap to democracy.
Sek Wannamethee, spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, said the order followed international media's criticisms on Thailand's election timeframe, after the new charter draft was announced.
He insisted that Thailand is now on stage 2 under the roadmap, to ensure that the election would take place within 2017. He also assured the international community that Thailand is committed to restoring democracy as well as political stability.
