Pajun facing defamation suit over police kickback allegation

The Royal Thai Police have filed a defamation suit against Admiral Pajun Tamprateep over his social network messages alleging a police general had demanded kickbacks for facilitating police promotions.

Pajun is the former secretary to Privy Council chief General Prem Tinsulanonda and is a former member of the now-defunct National Reform Council.
Deputy national police chief Srivara Ransibrahmanakul Thursday said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his deputy Prawit Wongsuwan did not order the police to file a complaint against Pajun – national police chief General Chakthip Chaijinda did.
