Meechai skips meeting with Cabinet, NCPO

Meechai Ruchuphan, the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Commission, Monday skipped the meeting of the “five rivers” for fear that he would be forced by the meeting to rewrite the draft constitution.

The five rivers or the National Council for Peace and Order, the Cabinet, the National Legislative Assembly, the National Reform Steering Council and the CDC held a joint meeting Monday afternoon.
Meechai said he decided not to attend the meeting because he did not want to be committed to revive his charter draft.
