NCPO to revamp its TV show

NCPO to revamp its TV show

THE NATIONAL Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) plans to revamp its daily 30-minute TV programme “Thailand Moves Forward” to boost critically low ratings, a source said yesterday.

The NCPO on Friday met with representatives from ministries, public relations departments, the premier’s secretariat, and TV stations including Channels 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 to solve the ratings problem, the NCPO source said.
The NCPO worried the ratings could result in the public not understanding the junta’s work.
The meeting resolved that the programme should contain more special reports produced during field trips to attract a larger audience. The reports will include interviews with people such as directors-general, local law-enforcement officials and village heads as well as with ordinary citizens, the source said. The new programme will focus on presenting policies and following the government’s activities and outcomes in areas in which people are interested, the source said.
The meeting, however, did not consider revamping Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s weekly talk show “Returning Happiness to People”, the source added.
