Leicester to visit Bangkok soon: vice chairman

Leicester City Football Club vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said his newly-crown English Premier League champion team would visit Bangkok very soon to thank Thai fans for support as the team was assured of title following a 2-2 draw between arch

Aiyawatt, son of club owner Vichai, said during an interview with local media this morning he planned to bring the Foxes to the capital soon. The team which started the 2015-16 season with 5,000-1 bet would reign supreme in the English top-flight league with seven points ahead of second-placed Spurs despite two remaining games.
“I want to bring them to visit important places in Thailand to allow them to see what Thailand is like and what we have done so far is for. This is to thank the Thai fans for all supports,” said Aiyawatt who was watching the Chelsea v Tottenham Spurs game at the Stamford Bridge. The draw dashed the hope of Spurs who needed a win to remain in contention for the EPL title.
“(After the result) I didn’t cry as I didn’t not reach that point yet. It was more like a memorable scene. . There was a phenomenon that all sports watchers began to see that a small team with small budget was about to succeed. And now, after we have worked for a long time, we have already succeeded. I’m happy,” he added.
Aiyawatt said he requested for a yellow and blue coloured ribbons to go with the EPL Trophy when it is presented to his side after the Sunday’s home game with Everton at the King Power Stadium.
“I personally chose blue and yellow as blue is the team colour and yellow is His Majesty the King’s colour.”
“Thai people should be given a lot of credits as all players acknowledge how much support they have been given. All players believe, so do all the Thai fans,” Aiyawatt added.
