EC demonstrates new voting machine

A new voting machine was introduced in the Election Commission (EC)’s event to kick off the referendum on charter draft at a hotel in Bangkok on Wednesday .

The machine will be used in the next general elections, according to an EC source. A set is comprised of five machines: one counting machine and four voting machines. Currently, the EC has 200 sets ready to use after related laws are enacted.
The machines are made in Thailand and cost Bt200,000 per set.
The junta plans to hold the next election in late 2017.
